Illustration Friday {Capture}

I know it is cliche to "capture" a moment, but when I was trying to come up with an image to share with everyone, I kept coming back to this classic poem by William Carlos Williams. The chickens always seem to compete for attention in this poem, so I thought I should portray them equally.

so much depends
upon
a red wheel
barrow

glazed with rain
water

beside the white
chickens.

(I'm also still trying to figure out my new scanner, so apologies for the uneven lighting on this image)

Excellent image. It does capture the attention. And, I'm pretty sure that surly-looking fowl plans to commandeer that wheelbarrow.

I like your color combination for this piece. the varrying red washes gives it nice depth. and i love that you chose to do it as a dyphtic (sp*?)

btw, thank you for the kinds words on my blog :)

I tried to comment earier in the week, but blogger comments were down.

An-y-way, this is great! Bold, curious and once again very very cool loose line work. I love it!

Wonderful red images... reminded me of that nursery rhyme: "Who will help me tend the corn?"
